Fad diets are any kind of diet that's not based on scientific information or proved by any scientific source , they're based on popularity , fad diets are a way of eating that can only be tolerated for a short periods , they're generally restrictive eating plans that offer magical claims and false promises .
Fad diets are plans for improved health in very little time or with little effort , sounds too amazing to be true , right ? Usually it is , most of fad diets are not based on science or have any kind of relation with any scientific source , and that can be dangerous .
Why fad diets are bad ?
1 - Most of fad diets are often boring and very restrictive and after a very short time you won't be enjoying the meals anymore you will then you start to change your meals and break the diet rules which may makes you think that it's your fault for not losing weight , and it's not for sure .
2 - Many fad diets eliminate some necessary food that your body actually needs , and that doesn't make you live a healthy diet and you'll destroy your body instead .
3 - Most fad diets do not follow recommendations of the American Heart Association and similar bodies for fat levels in the diet. Often the diet will recommend high fat foods and low carbs which if taken long term ,could result in heart disease .The promoters may tell
you that the diet is only intended to be followed for a short time . But you probably will not reach your goal weight in that time and then what ? You either continue with a plan that is not good for your health or stop and probably gain back what you lost .
4 - fad diets are very hard on the body because you're depriving yourself of proper nutrition . Then your body begins to suffer and even if you happen to lose some weight , many changes on your body will be seen , your nails , skin and hair will change and you may even have some dark circles around your eyes .
